Map of the Turia Gardens - Where to Go

great ok not nice

1. The Cabecera Park - an idilly on the hills with a lake, swans and ducks.
2. A strip of city weekend leisure - families, kids, playgrounds, sports grounds. The northern part is being built, hence unsightly.
3. The sports area taken by a huge athletics stadium (public) surrounded by onlookers
4. This bridge is famous for hosting the homeless of Valencia.
5. Probably the best part of the garden for relaxing in the Sun. Tranquil hills, calm, tranquil bodies on the grass, as idyllic as a city can get.
6. This part is a number of shadowy tree alleys with an atmospheric old bridge in the middle.
7. The area by Torres de Serranos is favoured by the Latino Valencia on weekends. Peruvians, Bolivians, Colombians, etc, congregate into one big family to play football, drink, eat and listen to Latino music.
8. This part is unsightly - taken by the football pitches.
9. This is historic landscape - an atmospheric Old Town Valencia, with buildings like Museum of Fine Arts and the Gothic Temple on its banks.
10. Puente del Real (The Royal Bridge), lined with statues, is one of the most outstanding and spectacular old bridges in Valencia.
11. A wilder, shadowy public promenade
12. The incredible Calatrava bridge, constructed in the same style as his other pieces (see City of Arts and Sciences)
13. This part is the most unsightly - pure bare space, but that's because it is usually the most lively - here is where they put fairs, circuses and festivals.
14. The Flower Bridge (Puente de las Flores) is a pretty row of flowers, decorated a few times a year with different colours.
15. This part hosts a charming pond and some of the most interesting flora in the river bed. The bridge accross it is spectacular.
16. The section of Palau de la Musica - a gorgeously designed space with alleys and fountains that gets very lively with public.
17. This part holds the Gulliver - a curious giant playground for kids, made in the form of spread out Gulliver, and turning the kids into lilliputs crawling all over him. A must see even for adults.
18. The part around City of Arts and Sciences is the most spectacular of them all - large green spaces, elegant garden design, ponds and alleys, random artworks. Very popular, especially on weekends.
