IVAM - modern art museum in Valencia, Spain

IVAM is by far the biggest art name in Valencia. It is the first exclusively modern art museum in Spain (since 1989). IVAM is a large and dynamic space, with several rotating exhibitions. The permanent collection is quite small, the museum dedicates itself more to promotion of new names. IVAM's aim is to explore the repercussions of modern art through XX century and the present. They try to display not just good artists, but those who go further - those who make a larger impact on the socium through their art. IVAM also pays special attention to photography. Like any good modern art, IVAM is shrowded in controversy. Some love it, some say its content is run badly. You can make your own opinion.
