Fair of Wine and Produce [Weekend before Easter]
Mostra de Vinos en Valencia
The
Wine Fair in Valenciahas been going annualy since 1989. It is a pre-Easter
tradition, always occuring on the weekend before Easter Sunday. Anyone
who produces wine or delicacies in Valencia brings them here to show to
the crowds.
Essentially, it is 5 days of mega tapa eating. If you enjoy Spanish tapas,
as well as the social aspect of them, this event is your dream. A whole
field of stalls, each serving a wide range of wines, tapas, delicacies
and sweets. Anything tasty that is produced in Valencia will be here.
The prices are great too. Entry is free and you buy 10 coupons for 10
euros. For each coupon you can get a glass of wine or a portion of food,
which really does work in your favour. You normally don't get a serving
of such quality for 1 euro in Valencia.
It is also a social buzz. Don't be shy and engage in the banter that
accompanies tapas in Spain. On events like this, everyone is happy to
talk to everyone, stranger or not. Especially after having to try so many
different wines.
Location
The Fair takes place in the Turia river-bed, in the section traditionally
used for fairs and events in Valencia - the stretch between the Calatrava
bridge and the Flower bridge (Multimap
