Parks and Gardens of Valencia
Valencia is a very green city. Wherever you go you will pass a little
green square, a green alley, or just a random spectacular row of palms.
Valencians love their green and are known for it. It is all over the city.
Here we list the most notable / accessible parks - beyond such luxurious
options there is no need to list every little green square.
entry
to all parks is free
Note: like in any city, walking in a park after
dark is not advisable, especially in the Turia river bed.

Jardines de Turia
- Park / Garden in Valencia |
Jardines de Turia
(Turia Gardens) are 9 km of greenery spanning the whole city. A
garden of this scope and complexity is unheard of, it is truly spectacular.
The entire river bed with its fertile soil has been converted into
a green city, with sports grounds, kid's playgrounds, green mazes,
fountains, elaborate gardens, alleys and spectacular buildings like
Palau de la Musica and City of Art and Sciences. This splendour
of life and colour is crossed over by a variety of gorgeous bridges.

Jardin Botanico
- Park / Garden in Valencia |
Of course, a green
city like Valencia will have its own serious Botanic Garden where
you can enjoy the flora of 5 continents and 3000 species, making
your visit not only pleasant but also educative. The Valencian Botanic
Garden has quite a lively schedule - not only there is serious university
research and conferences, but also art exhibitions and even an occasional
open-air jazz concert. Note: the entrance is on the side furthest

Glorieta
- Park / Garden in Valencia |
Glorieta is a
fairly small triangle by a busy roundabout so it is not really worth
going out of your way to see it. However, if you do pass by you
will be impressed by those incredible trees, good many meters in
diameter. A warm atmospheric vibe in a balmy mediterranean evening.

Jardin de Ayora
- Park / Garden in Valencia |
Jardin de Ayora
is a small-ish cosy garden with a pretty central mini-castle lost
in a quiet neighourhood of Valencia. There isn't much going on but
it is perfect for some tranquility or for reading a book. Only of
interest, really, if you live in the area - i.e. if you are a student.
In the summer it also hosts some of the events of Feria de Julio.
