The Holy Wednesday is one of the more interesting days in the celebration of Semana Santa Marinera in Valencia. It is full of varied and curious, profoundly emotional processions. Holy Wednesday is the day to contemplate Peace.

The processions will get progressively silent and emotional as the darkness falls onto Valencia - tomorrow Christ will be captured.

Procession 1 - Translado of Christ of Compassion

The three Brotherhoods will parade with the revered imagen of the Christ of Compassion.

Procession 2 - The Guard

Length: 1 hour

Just after the procession above leaves the square, the Longinos, dressed in Roman uniforms will perform an old tradition at the end of the procession - just before the group enters Church de los Angeles, the soldiers will form a corridor of an armed guard for the arrival of the imagen of Jesus of Nazareth

Procession 3 - the Crusaders

Length: 1.5 hours
A unique opportunity to see a procession by the Brotherhood dressed in uniform of Crusader infantry - one of the oldest, and rarest, uniforms in the celebration of Semana Santa worldwide.

Procession 5 - Pain of the Mother

Catch it at: 8.30 pm (start), Rosario
Length: 1.5 hours
This procession will carry three emotional imagenes of the Virgin grieving for Her Son. The imagenes are all artworks made by famous artists of the past.

Procession 6 - the Olive Walk

Length: 1.5 hours
Years Ago the Brotherhood of Jesus' Prayer in the Garden planted an olive tree along the route of this procession. Now, every year on Holy Wednesday, they stop at that tree to pray for world peace.

Procession 7 - The Protection

Catch it at: 11 pm (start), just before north Mediterraneo crosses Reina
Length: 1 hour
The Brotherhood of Christ the Savior and Protector forms a silent and introverted procession inviting everyone to pray for those who find themselves in despair.

Procession 8 - The Seclusion

Catch it at: 23.15pm (start), Rosario
Length: 1.5 hours
The Brotherhood of Crucifixion of the Lord will lead this silent procession, inviting everyone to withdraw into themselves to pray and connect with God. The procession will be accompanied by the Brotherhood's own richly uniformed Roman guard

Procession 9 - "A Prayer for Peace"

Length: 1.5 hours
This is a procession for the disadvantaged residents of Valencia. The members will carry torches and imagen of Christ Carrying the Cross. At regular intervals, a prayer for peace will be read.

Procession 10 - The Repent

Length: 1.5 hours
As Holy Wednesday becomes Holy Thursday, the believers are invited to repent their mistakes and ask forgiveness in this silent and emotional procession.
